Faux Jean and Friends Present: History in the Faking A film about Faux Jean by Michael Lopez and Taylor Park
History in the Faking is a lo-fi home movie about Faux Jean the man, and the band. Filmed almost entirely on high 8 film over a period of 2 1/2 years from 2004-2006 by Minneapolis native Taylor Park, the film follows Matty Schindler and the second official incarnation of the Faux Jean band as they record their last full length studio recording "Light it Up, Burn it Down", which took over two years, and several line-up changes to record. Included are interviews and live performances documenting some of the characters that made up the band, as well as the energy that surrounded them. At a running time of 2 hours 37 minutes, this long, uncut version of the film was originally intended as a personal homage to former members, and close friends of the band, but is being screened one night only for all of the friends and fans of Faux Jean who would like to remember, or discover Faux Jean during this period. The film will be preceded by an acoustic performance from Matty Schindler.
