DREAMERS Defining Civic Engagement
Come join Tamales y Bicicletas on this special night when we put our heads together and come up with legislative recommendations about the future of immigration reform in Minnesota! We need your help and opinions to get things going.
The East Phillips Park Cultural and Community Center (EPPCCC), a beautifully designed, energy efficient, 14,000 sq. ft. center, is opened Feb. 28, 2011 and serves a uniquely diverse community. Located in East Phillips Park at 2307 17th Ave. S., the center offers a gymnasium, kitchen, teen space, computer lab and meeting rooms.
In addition to being the newest recreation center in Minneapolis parks, it is also the “greenest.” The sustainable building boasts in-floor heating, censored lighting and high-efficiency windows, cooperatively creating an energy-efficient building that uses 33% less energy than code requirements. Rain gardens, soil rehabilitation and native plantings will help reduce water waste while beautifying the landscaping. During construction of the building, measures were taken to recycle construction waste and increase air quality for the future building occupants and workers.
