Burma: Genocide Today?
After the Holocaust, the world said ‘never again,’ – never again would we stand by while innocent people are targeted. Is genocide occurring today, in our time, in Burma? The Burmese government has failed to address the dire human rights conditions – thousands of people are political prisoners, sexual violence is rampant, civil war and inter-ethnic conflict are escalating, and security forces use forced labor for military building projects.
Join World Without Genocide for a discussion of the current human rights situation in Burma.
The event is open to the public and no reservations are necessary. Free to students, $5 seniors, $10 general public. Diversity PLP credit available for William Mitchell students.
Event will be held at William Mitchell College of Law in the Kelley Board Room.
