Event Description:

The very first Northside Chess Match is coming to North Minneapolis on Saturday, July 26th from 4-6PM! It's free and you're invited!

This exciting match will be on the corner of 2nd Street North and West Broadway!

The Northside Chess Match will be a special, living chess game, using people for the different pieces of the chess board including city officials and residents of the North Minneapolis neighborhoods!

There will also be food, free books, prizes, live entertainment and a community resource fair!

We still have room on the teams for you to play!
Matches are 30 minutes each! We are playing 3 matches. Space on teams are limited to first-come, first-serve. It's free to play!

To be a piece, send an e-mail to Bryan Thao Worra at bworra@hawthornecommunity.org or call us at (612) 529-6033.

You don't need to know the rules of chess to play! We'll show you everything you need to do and provide the costumes.

If you'd like to be a financial sponsor or prize donor, contact Mindy Isaacs at misaacs1@comcast.net .

This event is in conjunction with the FLOW Northside Arts Crawl. It is organized by the Hawthorne Neighborhood Council, the Hawthorne Business Committee, Juxtaposition Arts, and WBC.
