2014 Saint Paul Art Crawl

Saint Paul Art Collective host the Art Crawl, with the number of participating artists now exceeding 300 and the number of visitors averaging around 20,000 for each semi-annual, three-day event. The most recent Art Crawl boasted seventeen participating buildings in the Lowertown and Downtown neighborhoods alone. The Art Crawl is not limited to those two areas, however.  In the mid-2000’s, locations along University and Grand Avenues and in the Eastside and Westside neighborhoods of Saint Paul began participating.

Art exhibit: Bittersweet Winds

Featured artwork by Scott Hill of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin

Bittersweet Winds was initiated in 2006 by Richie Plass. The main goal of the exhibit is to educate the public about diversity, stereotyping and racism in the context of using Native American imagery. Bittersweet Winds has been developing since 2006 and now includes over 200 items for display. This collection presents a portion of what is available. This exhibition is part of series of programs offered in the month of November in effort to commemorate Native American Heritage month.
