The lable of "GRID" is grossly unfair and was correctly reclassified as AIDS decades ago. There are several other groups at risk including, but not limited to, individuals having unprotected heterosexual sex, IV drug users, and children of mothers with HIV/AIDS. Thankfully blood products and transfusions are vastly safer than they used to be. But there was an epidemic of individuals in the bleeding disorder community who contracted HIV/AIDS (e.g., Ryan White, who would have recently turned 40) due to their reliance on blood products. I am hopeful that these ignorant parents who are frightened of what they do not understand are exposed to further education so that they, in turn, can expose their children to different viewpoints and experiences, not to mention science.

Bleeding disorders community, among others
