This production would benefit, immensely, from the guidance of a playwright. As staged, it is several scripts sewn together, creating, unfortunately, a sum less than it's gathered parts.
The actors' and musicians' performances are, generally, excellent.
The lighting is professional.
The scrim with projections and video is an absolute disaster: It smacked of high school theater: distracting, at best; laughable, at it's worst.
Do I regret attending? Certainly not. But if I'm going to convince a troup of talented performers to leave the dock and float down that metaphorical river of live performance... the least I can do is provide them witha vessel that doesn't leak, that isn't patched together. They deserve a vessel that is better-crafted than that.
