TCDP TOP PICK | Brad Bellows/Donald Washington Quartet at the Black Dog Coffee & Wine Bar

12/21/2012 - 8:00pm - 10:00pm

TCDP TOP PICK: Here's a chance to celebrate Solstice with a very creative group of musicians. Donald Washington is an the reed player who taught saxophone wunderkind James Carter. Brad Bellows plays valve trombone around town. On December 21 at the Black Dog hey are joined by Chris Bates (bass) and Peter Hennig (drums), who have played together in the Atlantis Quartet and elsewhere. Together the four create music that goes to the edge, but never falls off. Their deep understanding of music, and their ability to communicate with each other is the trick, as each follows and anticipates the other with ease. The Black Dog will be appropriately decked out with lighting, special foods, and more. - Larry Englund
