Corcoran Park rock band camps

By now, most of you know that during the past few years I have been using a school-of-rock model to teach music at Corcoran Park. I always welcome interested kids and young adults. At present, we could really use a bass player or two. In any case, after playing at intermediate levels for some time, the next phase is the Corcoran Park Rock Band (CPRB), where we will work on ensemble playing and students will get to rock out.

COMMUNITY VOICES | Craig Taborn brings his brand of frenzied heroism to the Walker Art Center

Craig Taborn, the protean pianist, composer, and conceptualist, will return home to his native Minnesota Friday night for a celebration of his music at the Walker Art Center’s McGuire Theater. The performance, cryptically entitled “Heroic Frenzies,” will begin at 8. He will play in three different formats: with his electronica outfit Junk Magic, with his acoustic trio, and solo.

Hymie's Block Party: Live music, local beer, sunshine

If you love live music, art, flipping through vinyl, beer, and sunshine, hopefully you were able to make it out to Hymie’s yesterday for its Block Party in celebration of Record Store Day. Hymie’s had two stages, fourteen bands, a beer garden, live art, and lots and lots of records for sale.
