For three Dayton's Bluff teens, bikes mean freedom, friendship

Last May, three teenagers from Dayton’s Bluff wanted to save money by fixing up their own bicycles. One year and 12 bikes later, they want more bicycles to renovate for selling.

The Mounds Theatre and me

I’ve lived in Dayton’s Bluff just a few blocks from the Mounds Theatre all my life, but not for the whole life of the Mounds Theatre. It was built in 1922, and I was born twenty-nine years later.

The Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Microentrepreneur Program is taking applications for the spring 2012 class, which will start in May.
The program helps start-up and young businesses; all East Side entrepreneurs are welcome. The Dayton’s Bluff Community Council and the Neighborhood Development Center have been two such hosting microentrepreneur classes each year since 1993.MORE »

ICE threatens hope in St. Paul's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood

In January an ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) contingent, identified by a vehicle plate as being from North Dakota, conducted a training raid at a county-owned vacant house on East Fourth Street in Dayton’s Bluff. Neighbors driving through didn’t know it was a practice, but thought it was an actual raid. That same day, a similar event occurred on East Conway Street.MORE »
