St. Paul's newest dog park, under the High Bridge
Here at last an off leash dog park. Located under the Smith Avenue high bridge on land that belongs to Xcel Energy and was part of the high bridge plant. The park is not on the river but in between Shepard Road and the Condos and apartments on the upper landing.
There is parking. Take Randolph and follow it to where it dead ends and you will see a large parking area. The park is accesible on foot or by bike from the Sam Morgan Regional Trail.
Many dogs brought their people to the ribbon cutting last Thursday, May 31, 2012 and ran around on the seven acre off leash park, barked, caught balls and had a wonderful time. Xcel Energy staff were on hand to keep the water bowls full and mayor Coleman and council member Dave Thune were there.

Our dog Daisy the beagle loves the new park. She thinks it is fun to run and she likes to play with the other dogs.

The park is open from dawn until sunset and there is no small dog area at this time.
