12:25 Dayton wins DFL nomination!

AT 6 a.m., the  Secretary of State website showed 93 percent of precincts reporting, with Mark Dayton leading by 176,229 votes (41.13 percent) to Margaret Anderson Kelliher's 171,252 votes (39.97 percent). Kelliher has not yet conceded, nor has Dayton claimed victory. Matt Entenza, who conceded early in the evening, trailed far behind with 77,944 votes.

In St. Paul, Rena Moran in House District 65A and John Harrington in Senate District 67 have won the DFL nominations.

Oh, yeah - Tom Emmer won the GOP nod and Tom Horner got the Independence Party nomination. No cliffhangers there

Rena Moran won the DFL nomination in House District 65A over the endorsed candidate, Jeremiah Ellis. TakeAction Minnesota issued a statement saying:

“We are overjoyed that Rena Moran won tonight and will, in all likelihood, be taking a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives in January.  Rena is one of the rising stars in Minnesota politics, who embodies the values of the reNEW Minnesota campaign -- a campaign she helped to create and continues to lead. People were truly excited and energized by Rena’s candidacy which is a testament to her coalition-building skills and ability to connect with the people in her community.  She will be an authentic, forceful representative for her district because she’s walked in their same shoes herself.  We cannot think of a better representative for 65A and are excited to get to work in partnership with Rena to move her district forward.”

Republican Paul Holmgren will run against Moran. The HD65A seat is held by Representative Cy Thao, who is retiring.

John Harrington won the DFL nod in Senate District 67, easily outpacing the other eight candidates. Repubican Krysia Weidell and Independence Party candidate Dino Guerin will run against Harrington. The SD67 seat  is held by Senator Mee Moua, who is retiring.

Minneapolis Board of Education

In Minneapolis, the top four candidates for the two at-large school board seats are:

Richard Mammen with 11,337 votes

Rebecca Gagnon with 7,559 votes

Chanda Baker with 7,517 votes

T Williams with 6655 votes

Ramsey County races

The top two candidates will be on the November ballot for county attorney. John Choi has a solid lead with 21346 votes, and David Schultz is second, with 10994 votes.

In the judicial race, the top two candidates will face off in November. Gloria Bogen leads with 8080 votes, and Mark Ireland is second with 6794 votes. Results could still change, with 30 percent of precincts still out.
