Minnesota State Fair Cliches

by Erica Mauter | August 31, 2009 •  I have no inclination to go to the Minnesota State Fair whatsoever. Probably another one of those things that’s a result of not having grown up here. So I will enjoy the State Fair from afar by reading Minnesota State Fair Clichés. My favorites include:

#13 – Edgy Arts And Crafts.
#16 – Hair Styles Last Seen As Trendy By Most Of America Over A Decade Ago.
#19 – White People.
#30 – People Milling Around Animal Butts.
#34 – Old-Timey Farm Equipment.
#39 – People In Hats They Know Look Stupid But That Put On Anyway Because, Hey, It Was Free.
#47 – Punny T-Shirts From Special Interest Groups.
#51 – Creatively Costumed Amateur Talent Ensembles.

The accompanying photos hilariously illustrate each point perfectly. There’s still a week to go, so there are many more still to come. Contribute your own!

Minnesotans losing homes A record 92,500 Minnesota homes are either in foreclosure or in danger of foreclosure, reports the Star Tribune.
