CVS and Walgreens Offering Free Flu Shots for Unemployed, Uninsured

September 03, 2009

by Erica Mauter | September 2, 2009 • CVS/pharmacy is offering free flu shots for the unemployed at all locations housing a MinuteClinic. I ran a quick search on zip code 55408 with the “Special Services: Flu Shot” option checked and it turned up stores in Andover, Apple Valley, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Chanhassen, Coon Rapids, Eagan, Eden Prairie, New Hope, Lakeville, Maple Grove, Maplewood, Mounds View, Plymouth, Shakopee, White Bear Lake, and Woodbury. Same results searching under 55105, so I’m assuming this is all the CVS/MinuteClinic locations in the metro area. You can also call 1-888-FLU-SHOT to find the store nearest you. You can purchase a flu shot at those same locations. Just show up. No appointment needed.

Or you catch the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour. If you are 18+ years of age and uninsured and visit a Wellness Tour bus location between September 17 and October 15 you will receive a voucher for a free flu shot good at any Walgreens pharmacy or TakeCare Clinic through November 30. Complete details at the Wellness Tour website. The Minnesota Tour Schedule is here (pdf). It’s in Woodbury on Thursday 9/3, Eagan on Friday, Saint Paul on Saturday, Richfield on Sunday, and Bloomington on Monday.
