Minnesota Raptor Center Fall raptor release: Fly like a (rehabilitated) eagle

If you’ve been following Lollipopolis.com at all, you probably know that I’m a big fan of the University of Minnesota Raptor Center and its public spring and fall raptor releases. Well, guess what’s happening this Saturday?

At 11 am and 2 pm see happy rehabilitated birds of prey be released into the wild and fly off to bigger and better things (cue: chills). Get an up-close look at eagles, falcons, hawks and owls. Take an orchard hay wagon tour. And let the kids get their kicks as they raise their raptor IQs and dig through owl pellets for teeny-tiny bones (ewww!).

Pack a picnic and blanket and make yourself comfortable (no dogs please!). Empty inkjet printer cartridges harshing your feng shui? Bring those too to benefit the Recycling for Raptors program—and maybe a few dollars to throw in the donation can if you’re feeling the raptor love (you can donate here too).

Fly away little red-tailed hawk! Don’t forget to write! (Sniff.)
