Triangle Park Creative

Snow Sculpture Carving

February 07, 2010

A Snow Sculpture Contest was held on the Mall in the Uptown area of Minneapolis on Saturday, February 6, 2010. It was in conjunction with a number of events held by the City of Lakes Loppet. The images displayed here are from the time that the participants were practicing their artwork -- from 9 am until 1 pm. You will need to get the results of the judging elsewhere, as well as finished photographs of the completed creations. The City of Lakes Loppet website  may be a good place to start looking for more images. I hope to add links as as find them. You may even have some time to view the works in person.

These images depict the carving activity. I captured only a small portion of the art that transpired. The camaraderie was warming. I believe it shows in the sculptures.
