Marry Me Minnesota: Matching grant opportunity to July 31

July 25, 2009
by Andy Birkey July 22, 2009 • The organizers at Marry Me Minnesota have been offered a matching grant of up to $10,000 until the end of July. That means any money you donate to the cause gets doubled. MMM is currently launching a lawsuit against the state of Minnesota to secure marriage rights for same-sex couples, similar to the action that made same-sex marriage legal in Iowa this year. From MMM:
You vote, call, write, attend the occasional protest and nothing seems to change. A lawsuit is different. Once the suit is filed, the issue is going to be heard and decided. Change will be made. We need $10,000 on hand to get this marriage equality lawsuit filed and we are nearly there. If you want to commit a political act that will shake up the status quo and demonstrate to holders of public office that we mean business, that we are willing to employ any means at our disposal to secure our freedom and equality, donate to Marry Me Minnesota now so we can get this lawsuit off the ground. It is the most important, the most powerful thing you can do for marriage equality in the State of Minnesota. Donate now while the matching grant is still in force, until August 1, and your donation will have twice the impact. Go to the Marry Me Minnesota website: marrymeminnesota.org to donate $25, $50, $100 or more online, or send a check, payable to Marry Me Minnesota, to: Marry Me Minnesota, 3600 Emilie Place, Robbinsdale, MN 55422, because this will happen, only with your action. Thank you.
