| By the People is a weblog on civic engagement produced by the Center for Democracy and Citizenship at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs of the University of Minnesota. |
As part of their work and learning, they partnered with
SPNN to create a documentary about a group of African American students at the University of Minnesota (U of M) who, in 1969, staged a sit-in to demand that the university improve the campus climate - and access - for minorities. In this film, the teens place an event organized by students in Minnesota 40 years ago in the context of an ongoing nationwide movement for justice and equality.
