Press release of the day: A post-pop Pocahontas
Our friends at Magnum PR sent this promotional photo of Chicago's Via Tania. It's about time someone came along to fill the market niche for dour, gothed-out ukulele-strumming sirens in Song of Hiawatha costume. You'd never guess that she got her start in the "vowel-free noise-pop outfit Spdfgh" before going solo with the new album moon pop (apparently now vowels are in, but capital letters are out), featuring a sound the press release describes as ranging from "Tim-Burton-esque" to "campfire balladry" to "scando-disco."
