Riverview Theater 60th Anniversary Celebration

December 16, 2008
by Erica Mauter • Celebrate with Riverview --
On Thursday, December 30, 1948, the Riverview Theater’s doors opened for the first time. Now, nearly six decades later, we are proud to continue the tradition of providing film entertainment to Minneapolis and the Longfellow Neighborhood.

To celebrate the occasion, we will have several special screenings of A CHRISTMAS STORY on December 22-23, at 5:00 & 7:15 each day. We have chosen this film to be shown in conjunction with the event in part because it is set during the era when the Riverview was being planned and built, and because it is such a heartwarming story that has itself become a classic and reached its own 25th anniversary.

For this occasion, we are partnering with the Minnehaha Food Shelf. Admission will be a non-perishable food item (canned good) and/or 50¢. All admission receipts and food will go to the food shelf. We will also have retro pricing at our concession stand. Popcorn and drinks (1 size only) will also be just 50¢.

We appreciate all the support we have received from our many, many customers over the years, and hope to be going strong years into the future. Best wishes to each of you during the upcoming holiday season.
