The Daily Planet swears off meth (and crack, while we're at it)

I blame myself. It all started with my review of Jeune Lune's The Deception, which I thought I was being real clever by likening to "Dangerous Liaisons on crystal meth."

But that was just the beginning. Next came Lydia Howell's review of Workhaus Collective's Forgetting: "Ingmar Bergman on meth." That certainly got the point across, and it had been nearly a year since the phrase appeared in my Jeune Lune review, so we left it in. And now, it seems—not even a month later—we're on to the harder stuff. In a feature on the Six Shooter Film Series, series organizer Tom Quinn refers to the film Donkey Punch as "Dead Calm on crack." Enough! I'm drawing the line and cutting us off. I can't speak for Lydia Howell, but I've never even been on meth...so who am I to speak? I once asked someone who's tried it what the experience was like. She shook her head at my naïve curiosity. "It's just," she sighed, "another stupid drug you can do."
