A million teddy bears find a million buttons
by Jay Gabler, TC Daily Planet • 10/1/08 • As part of a national effort organized by the Boston-based early education organization Jumpstart, the Guthrie Theater has invited local children and their minders to stop by tomorrow morning to be regaled with one of many readings of Don Freeman’s Corduroy. As a cobranded bribe, the Guthrie will be distributing 500 copies of Little House on the Prairie to participating youngsters.
Arts Orbit is a multisource blog about the local arts scene, featuring both original contributions by Daily Planet writers and entries reprinted from partner blogs and online publications.
Jumpstart, it seems, is attempting to set a record for the world’s largest “shared reading experience”—kids’ help not having been needed to set the previous benchmark a decade ago, when the Starr Report was released.
