Returning favorites—3 Sticks

The Gypsy and the General “Defeated by the enemy, the General and her entourage traverse fantastical lands as the Gypsy spins their fortunes through electrifying music in this physically daring ensemble created show.” It says Dance, and Musical Theater on the website listings with the Fringe.

Single White Fringe Geek (and Mom) is the blog of Matthew A. Everett, one of five bloggers covering the Minnesota Fringe Festival for the Daily Planet.

For a long time, it was just TBD to the world at large. The only thing I could find on their website - www.3sticks.org - was the following little clue... “The summer production brings the return of Artistic Associate, Maya Robert-Nicoud, who will lead the company in research and collaboration on a new piece developed for the Minnesota Fringe Festival. This production will also perform in Brookings, South Dakota and may tour to the Boulder Fringe Festival and the San Francisco Fringe Festival.” I hear Eric Avery is part of the cast. He directed “Mr. Charles, Currently of Palm Beach” for In The Basement Productions in last year’s Fringe, and had an amazing acting turn onstage a few months ago in Emigrant Theater’s “Blue Door.” The 3 Sticks crew always puts on a good, and unusual, show, and with Eric in the mix, that makes it that even more interesting. Definitely something for the short list.
