Steve Sarvi, veteran and candidate

Also, there always have been former members of the military in politics—think of President Eisenhower, Senators John Kerry and John McCain, Pennsylvania Representative John Murtha and Minnesota’s Tim Walz. Recently, a new generation of veterans – veterans of the Iraq war – have started running for Congress. Here's an interview with one of them, Steve Sarvi, the Democratic candidate in Minnesota's second congressional district, running against current Republican Representative John Klime.

Minnesotans losing homes A record 92,500 Minnesota homes are either in foreclosure or in danger of foreclosure, reports the Star Tribune.
