Top Neo-Nazi group leaves Minneapolis
While some of its local sympathizers are likely to stick around, the country’s largest remaining neo-Nazi group has officially pulled up stakes in Minnesota: the Hitler-inspired National Socialist Movement (NSM) has left its longtime Minneapolis headquarters and relocated to Michigan, according to a press release dated Dec. 29.
NSM head Jeff Schoep moved from Hutchinson to Detroit, bringing the group’s business operations with him, says Michael Brooks, a former Detroit resident who now lives in Toledo and covered NSM-sparked riots there for the Free Press two years ago.
Along with the move, NSM announced leadership changes and touted that it is “aggressively strengthening the organization with mandatory leadership requirements including mandatory training seminars and other measures designed to increase the level of efficiency across the board.”
The white separatist group has a track record of going into minority and mixed-race communities to rally, as it did in North Toledo, Ohio, in October 2005. When police shielded neo-Nazis from angry residents, the crowd turned violent. Schoep commented that the “Negro beasts proved our point for us.” (Its last Minnesota event of note was a January 2007 book-burning.)
But in Detroit, it’s Schoep (at right) who’s in the minority: around 88 percent of the city’s population is non-white, according to the U.S. Census Bureau (by contrast, 18 percent of Minneapolis residents are African American).
Reached by email, Brooks said he didn’t think Schoep moved to stir up conflict. “I wouldn’t expect Schoep to suddenly turn into a one-man vigilante force, and I don’t see this as a ‘belly-of-the-beast’ move,” he wrote. “Schoep has always been a low-key, behind-the-scenes operative who participates in few public rallies.”
NSM has attracted the attention of hatewatch groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center for, among other activities, recruiting young people through its Viking Youth Corps. A SPLC report in 2004 stated that Viking Youth “will be taught military skills, national socialist theory and practice, the history of the white race and, in general, how to become ‘a more effective warrior.’” At that time, Schoep claimed there was so much interest that “we can barely keep up.”
The group has two endeavors that presumably target that demographic: a profitable record label (now promoting Arrow Cross, dubbed “real rock that you will be proud to turn up load [sic]!”) and a social networking site for “people of European descent.”
Like MySpace meets Mein Kampf, the site states, “Hot topics of interest include defending the rights of white people, preservation of European culture and heritage, reform of illegal immigration policies, workers rights, withdrawal of our military from an illegal Middle Eastern occupation and promotion of white separation.”

Jeff Schoep Leads From The Front
If the writer took a little more time to do research this article, he would have discovered that Jeff Schoep is not a behind the scenes type of guy. He’s led numerous rallies and demonstrations. The tribe that NSM is in opposition to are the ones that do things behind the scenes.
Neo-Nazis Leave Minnsota
I have no way of proving, at the moment, what I am about to write, but I believe that Jeff Schoep, the head or “Commander” pf the NSM, may have fled Minnesota and taken the NSM with him, to avoid legal action and the seizure of NSM assets,
I first encountered the NSM about 4 years ago when one of their members, Mark Martin, from Covington, Ohio, who lead the Nazis in Toledo, which led to the race riots, came into a sim Senate group I was in and wrote that “Only one Jew died in 9-11 and the Mossad was behind the 9-11 attacks”.
Over the last 4 years I have established a hatewatch group and we have monitored the on-line activities of Jeff Schoep, the NSM and other neo-Nazi and Klan groups around the country. One of the things we do is report their activities to Yahoo, AOL, Google and ISP’s when their activities cross the line and begin to violate these companies TOS or Terms of Service, This has had the effect of limiting these groups and their growth, because their groups and sites are constantly being deleted or removed.
Frustrated by all this, Mr. Martin and other NSM members started an intensive on-line harassment and defamation campaign against me and others. On several occasions I informed Mr. Schoep about the activities of NSM members and requested that he, as the head of the NSM, a paramilitary style organization that supposedly prides itself on “discipline”, reign in his members. Mr. Martin laughed on-line when I complained to Jeff Schoep about their activities and said he and his friends would not be deterred in their campaign of harassment.
Recently I notified Mr. Schoep that he, as head of the NSM and the NSM itself, might be held liable for the actions of Mr. Martin and other NSM members, since the NSM is a paramilitary style organization and they supposedly follow “Orders” and he has the head or “The Commander” of the NSM had not given them orders to stop or cease.
Recently we discovered that while most of the members of the NSM are judgment proof, the NSM itself, has substantial assets thru the sale of neo-Nazi CD’s and Nazi paraphernalia and memorabilia. While I am unable to substantiate it at the moment, I believe Jeff Schoep may have left Minnesota, with the NSM, in an attempt to protect the assists of the NSM.

Alright, the biggest and greatest National Socialist organization known as the National Socialist Movement (NSM88) has moved from Minnesota to Michigan. And the big deal is? The NSM can relocate to Florida, heck even Alaska, and it would still remain the best and top organization in the White Movement. Concerned whether it’s dying? Well, I think not, so go on, write a nice article on how minorities are the true “majority” and get your facts straight. Write with more of an objective point of view.
NSm Has A Split In 2007
The NSM had a split in October 2007 and the National Socialist Order of America was formed by most of the NSM members that left the NSM. Schoeps bad character is the blame for it.
