"Volunteer wrangler for a respected and controversial—depending upon whom you ask—national non-profit; freelance writer; and wannabe country music DJ.."

Other than your job, what are your claims to fame?
"I write about country music for City Pages, am putting finishing touches on a memoir about country music and growing up in South Dakota, and I've drunk Coors with both Brooks & Dunn and with the Silver Bullet Band. I like karaoke. And when I'm able, I go on long road trips to far-off destinations like Patsy Cline's plane crash site, the putt-putt golf course where Hank Williams is buried, Merle Haggard's boxcar house in Bakersfield, and both La Grange and Luckenbach in Texas. I can tell you how to get a private tour of Loretta Lynn's childhood Coal Miner's Daughter home, hosted by her very sweet little brother. He has neat horses."

What's your relationship status?
"I think my recent nuptials trended on Twitter, which is kind of creepy, but I suppose that's just the way it goes. Apologies to everyone who has to look at me a thousand times in the coming weeks."

Where are you most likely to be seen?
"Eating Heggies with my husband at the Hex, which is where we met—if you saw photos of my recent nuptials, rest assured that was a Heggies baby, not a baby-baby. Otherwise, maybe the Turf Club. If the season's right, at a county fair. But most probably up at the butt-crack drinking coffee out of my Graceland mug in the dining room and not getting enough done."

Where are you least likely to be seen?
"Places with dance music, places with no toilet paper—not counting the county fair—and karaoke places where I don't get to sing at least three times in one night."

With what person or people are you most likely to be seen?
"My woodworker/drummer husband, Alex, or one of my excellent, wonderful friends, all of whom do exciting and inspirational things and are too numerous to name individually here. You know who you are, and you're all fantastic...GUSH."

Where were you born?
"A small town without an Olive Garden or a Red Lobster in eastern South Dakota. Since I've moved away, they've acquired a Jimmy John's, Long John Silver's, Starbucks—in the Target—and Qdoba. This is why they say you can never go back."

What neighborhood do you live in now?
"Standish-Ericsson."

What's your ride?
"I try to ride my bike, really I do. It's a yellow Peugeot with a lime green basket. It's cute."

What's the best way for someone to start a conversation with you?
"Hand me a beer and ask me to show you how to Boot Scootin' Boogie."
