Q: Who IS that? A: Brenda Karunya Peters, Amsterdam Bar & Hall's Girl Friday

February 29, 2012

Name: Brenda Karunya Peters
Twitter: @brenface. "I'll warn you now—I'm usually drunk or on the bus when I tweet. Both, if you're lucky."

What's your job?
"I'm Amsterdam Bar & Hall's Girl Friday—currently I'm the house photographer/blogger and coat check girl. I also work at CoCo Minneapolis, keeping those crazy tech entrepreneurial types in line."

Other than your job, what are your claims to fame?
"You've probably heard my laugh—I've been told it's show stopping. Otherwise, I'm the girl with the scrabble/lighter/toy/etc. earrings."

What's your relationship status?
"I'm in a pretty great relationship with my snazzy-awesome boyfriend and gin."

Where are you most likely to be seen?
"On the bus—usually to get to Amsterdam Bar & Hall, Club Jäger, places with delicious burgers and/or mac 'n' cheese, or thrift stores."

Where are you least likely to be seen?
"Barrio. Wild Onion. Midway Walmart. The 16 bus."

With whom are you most likely to be seen?
"My boyfriend, Adam. My main girls, 'True Iowa' Chelsea and Mina. The gents of my man posse, Kyle and Garrett. The Tuesday night Jäger crowd. The Amsterdam/old 501 family. And a handful of incredibly funny/talented/quirky people from The Other City."

Where were you born?
"I'm a St. Paul baby, baby."

What neighborhood do you live in now?
"I live in Summit Hill, by the best Indian restaurant on this side of the river."

What's your ride?
"I'm Metro Transit's biggest fan. Always on the bus."

What's the best way for someone to start a conversation with you?
"It's not hard. I love meeting new people and I'm a sucker for gin, scotch, photography, music and DIY projects. And my earrings are always an ice breaker."
