PHOTO CHALLENGE | Ramadan! Send us your best photos

Photo by Amy Bergquist. "I'm not Muslim, but zakah and sadaqah (charitable giving) is one of my favorite parts of Ramadan. I've attached a photo of the charitable donation box at the Dungan Mosque in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan, which we visited last month. In cyrillic, it reads 'sadaka' and then underneath in Russian 'charity.' It's also a reminder that Muslims are celebrating Ramadan in nearly every corner of the world!"

Celebrating Ramadan? Take a photo of your tradition, celebration, or observance and send it our way! We'd especially love to see photos of your iftar meals. Sharing your pics with us is easy: just tag them with #tcdpic on Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr, or Twitter—or e-mail them to jay [at] tcdailyplanet [dot] net. Check back right here on July 29 to see your photos in our gallery.
