Chickens in the city

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, or so some Minneapolis urban chicken farmers caution. Urban chicken farming is an alternative to buying eggs from industrial chicken farms, but if you can't put the time and money into for your urban chicks think twice about trying it. My cousin used to have

My cousin used to have chickens but I never knew how much work went into raising them. Very interesting an informative video.

    Great story

Great story that might make people think twice about keeping chickens in the city for eggs because it's the latest fad. Many people seem to be promoting urban chicken raising without also providing adequate information about the amount of work required, the space needed, and the veterinary care needs of these birds. I anticipate we'll see a huge upswing in abandoned animals, similar to what happened with the pot-bellied pig craze, once people realize they actually have to put some time and funds into caring for the birds.
