Heart of the City parties in Harrison

October 30, 2008
The third Heart of The City gathering took place on October 24th and was a successful and positive evening in the Harrison neighborhood. Over seventy-five friends and neighbors stopped by to enjoy hot dogs and chicken while getting to know others in their neighborhood.

Councilman Don Samuels came out and even graced the audience with some singing along with the help of his daughters. A slide show was on display for most of the evening, highlighting previous gatherings. Yoman Brunson, a Harrison resident and 58b's Republican candidate was also in attendance.

Tours were given both of the construction on a Green LEED House and a neighborhood garden. The evening ended around 8:30 when it got too cold, but not before a number of area youth took advantage of an "open mic" time and performed some impromptu songs.
