Exploding Language Public Art Project

"It's a homage to the sixties and the black arts movement," said Kirk Washington, one of the artists contracted for the exhibit. Indeed, according to the web site, the focus of the project was to use contemporary art pieces to capture the “cultural revolution of ideas" that existed during the turbulent political and economic times of the 1960s and 70s.
The event concluded October 18th with a night of barbequing, DJing by KMOJ, and Word games for youth at the Yard Poetry exhibit (think refrigerator magnet poetry, but with giant yard signs). More than 50 people attended the event, including Thomasin Franken, representing the campaign of her father, U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken.
