Giving Kids the Tools They Need to Succeed

Share
July 25, 2008
Many of our area schools will be starting soon. The supply list for each student seems to get longer and more expensive every year, Imagine not being able to afford those supplies. The economy has hit everyone and those in need the most dramatically.

The East Side District Councils are holding our annual school supply drive to support needy Eastside school children and area schools. We need new and unused crayons, notebooks, pens and pencils, looseleaf paper, calculators and other school supplies. Contributors can bring school supplies to several drop locations in our neighborhoods including the District Council offices. Donations will be distributed to elementary, junior and senior high schools in District 1 (Conway/Battlecreek), District 2 (Hazel Park/Hillcrest), District 4 (Daytons Bluff) and District 5 (Payne Phalen) NeighborhoodsSupplies are given to the schools directly for distribution.

For a list of drop locations, to make a tax-deductible cash donation or if you would like your business/school to be a drop site please contact Lisa at the District 2 Community Council at 651-774-2220 or via email lisa@district2council.org. You can also check out our website at www.eastsideschoolsupplies.org.
