Hawthorne Clean Sweep Coming

May 09, 2008

The Hawthorne Neighborhood needs volunteers for their annual Clean Sweep across the Hawthorne neighborhood to clean up the sidewalks and boulevards of their neighborhood!

Last year, residents and volunteers collected over 60 bags of garbage from the street and 250 tires were disposed of. In the past they’ve cleaned up as many as 450 tires in the neighborhood.

The Annual Hawthorne Clean Sweep is part of an ongoing campaign to protect the neighborhood environment, reduce pollution and crime and to increase family and resident safety.

Free breakfast and lunch provided at Farview Park for volunteers. Farview Park is located at the corner of 29th Avenue and Lyndale Avenue North.

The event takes place Saturday, May 10th at 8:30 AM at Farview Park and the Hawthorne Neighborhood Council will provide everything you need to help!

The Clean Sweep provides great exercise, fresh air and a chance to make wonderful new friends in Hawthorne!
