Community meeting Wed., Aug. 15, to discuss effect of 35W bridge collapse on neighborhoods

All residents of Southeast and Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood associations are being invited to a community meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 15, to discuss the impact of the 35W bridge collapse on the surrounding neighborhoods. The meeting, which will be held at Van Cleve Park from 6 to 7:30 pm, is being organized by state senator Larry Pogemiller and state representatives Diane Loeffler and Phyllis Kahn. The have also invited representatives from the Met Council, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and the city of Minneapolis to take part.

Topics that will be discussed include the process of reconstructing the bridge, transit issues and the clean0up process.
