Triangle Park Creative

The Twin Cities Daily Planet offers creative solutions to your advertising needs – at prices you can afford!

The Daily Planet’s wide range of news sources and original content attracts some of the most diverse, engaged and active residents of the Twin Cities—join us as an advertiser! Nearly 100,000 visitors turn to the Twin Cities Daily Planet every month for original reporting and commentary by citizen contributors and the best of the neighborhood, community and ethnic press.

The Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists has twice awarded the Daily Planet its Page One Award for best Independent News Website. Here’s what SPJ’s judges said about the Daily Planet:

"The breadth and depth of this site is terrific. It connects on multiple fronts: reader engagement, neighborhood coverage, local opinions, updates and a strong commitment to a diversity of voices. Tcdailyplanet.net really taps the power of the medium to make the community part of the conversation – a lesson some of its competitors could benefit from.”

We recently changed our advertising options to offer more choices and better value. Options now include run of site ads; section and neighborhood sponsorships; newsletters, and our new self-service QuickAds. Scroll down for details and downloads.

Neighborhood cluster sponsorship: $100/month

Your leaderboard appears on the top of all neighborhood home pages in the cluster. Minimum purchase 3 months. Guaranteed minimum of 10,000 impressions per month (may include some run-of-site ads.) Minimum purchase 3 months.

Newsletter sponsorship:

The Daily Planet publishes six different newsletters:

Daily Headlines (3,000 subscribers, 6x/week):  $150

Arts Orbit Radar (3,000 subscribers, 1x/week) $100

Weekly highlights (3,000 subscribers, 1x/ week

Ask about our introductory rates for these new weekly newsletters:

  • Education News
  • TCFoodies
  • News of the University District Neighborhoods (includes Como, Marcy-Holmes, Prospect Park - E. River Road, and West Bank)

But your actual cost per reader may be a lot lower. Ads run in rotation, so actual cost per reader depends on how many ads are sharing the space. Currently, only three or four ads run in each of our premium spaces, so effective cost per page view works out to less than one cent per reader – and will never be more than 1.5 cents. (For more exposure, buy more than one “share.”)
